1843 Harvest Cafe’ of Lideman’s choose Valoriani
1843 Harvest Cafe is the Lindeman’s cafe located at the Lindeman’s vineyard in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley winery region. The café is named after the year Dr Henry Lindeman planted the first Lindeman’s vines and thus the year the company was founded. Surrounded by the lush Hunter Valley landscape; rolling green hills decorated with rows of vineyards, 1843 Harvest offers a relaxed dining experience with both alfresco and indoor seating options.
In the kitchen the Valoriani GR140x160 wood fired oven is the main contributor to the rustic yet contemporary menu. While the pizza selections are an easy-to-share option, they are not the only menu items cooked in the versatile stone oven. The wood fired Pane di Casa is traditional Italian-style bread offered as an entrée or side with olive oil and caramelised balsamic. There is no better way to cook Pane di Casa than in an oven with its own heritage originating in Tuscany, Italy. Baking the loaf directly on the stone and by the open flame results in a perfectly crisp crust and a dense, chewy centre.
Also cooked in the Valoriani oven is a succulent beef fillet proving that wood fire cooking enunciates the natural flavors that only come from a quality cut of meat. Served with sapphire potatoes, garlic emulsion and jus the fillet is a definitely a favourite on the cafés menu.
Of course being a vineyard the menu includes suggestions of a wine from the Lindeman range to accompany each menu item and visiting Lindeman’s cellar door is a must to complete the experience. 1843 Harvest is the perfect spot for connoisseurs and amateurs a like to take a lunch break while they contemplate their next move in their Hunter Valley winery tour.
